• My Concerns About Sebaceous Glands and Skin Type Variation.

I have different skin types on various parts of my body, which is quite common.

Although my overall skin type tends to be dry, the areas around my ears are more prone to oiliness.

When I take a shower, I pay extra attention to my ears, but I still notice oil buildup quickly.
This oiliness occurs not in the earlobe, helix, ear canal, or eardrum, but specifically in the scapha, triangular fossa, antihelix, and concha of the ear.

The tendency for oiliness around the ears, despite having generally dry skin elsewhere, leads me to the following conclusions:

    1. Sebaceous Gland Activity :
The outer ear has sebaceous glands that produce oil.
These glands can be more active in certain areas, contributing to localized oiliness.

    2. Skin Type Variation :
It's normal for different areas of skin to have varying characteristics.
Some regions might naturally be more oily due to the density of sebaceous glands or the skin's response to environmental factors.

In my case, avoiding over-washing is crucial.
Over-washing can disrupt the skinโ€™s natural oil balance, causing it to produce more oil to compensate for the loss.
This is particularly relevant for areas with active sebaceous glands, such as around the ears.

To manage this, here are a few tips ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ”Ž

    1. Avoid Over-Washing :
       - Gentle Cleansing :
Use a mild cleanser that doesnโ€™t strip the skin of natural oils but helps balance oil production.
    Opt for gentle, non-stripping cleansers.
       - Limit Washing Frequency :
Wash my face and ears only as neededโ€”typically once or twice a dayโ€”to avoid disrupting the skinโ€™s natural balance.

    2. Moisturizing :
       - Moisturize Wisely :
Even if my skin is generally dry, using a non-comedogenic moisturizer on the oily areas can help balance oil levels.
       - Monitor Products :
Choose a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated without adding excess oil.

By establishing a balanced routine, I can effectively manage both dryness and oiliness.
